Suffolk

Newmarket, here we are looking at a very rich history.  This is more than just a market town.  It is the home of Horse-racing and The Jockey Club.  This in itself can take pages of information. So, from King Charles ll’s palace to his racing stables (that is now part of the National Stud/Heritage Centre) where do we begin?

Take a walking tour with Select Events Planning and see the historic
Palace House, the Jockey Club Room, All Saints Church and Tattersalls.  Then there is the National Heritage Centre and Horse racing Museum come and learn all about the ‘Sport of Kings’.

You will see the finest sporting art in the world and have the chance to meet the famous racehorses you have heard about in the past.  You can see 'The Gallops' and the trainers taking the current crop of horses out and through the beautiful town.

Newmarket is one of the must see towns in the Suffolk county as there is nowhere quite like this and if you have the time you absolutely have to take a ‘day at the races darling’!  Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth regularly visits the town to see her horses in training.
