Suffolk

Lavenham is regarded as the finest surviving example of a medieval town. The splendid church and fine timber-framed houses intermingle with small cottages and crooked town houses, a lasting legacy of the wealthy clothiers in the 15th and 16th centuries. The medieval street pattern still exists today, complete with the Market Place and over 300 buildings which are listed as being of architectural and historical interest.  Immerse yourself in Lavenham, its past and the odd Hollywood blockbuster! Witches were burned in the market square by the order of Mathew Hopkins the Witchfinder General and this horror was recreated in the 1968 Vincent Price movie and actually filmed in the Market Place as were several scenes from the Harry Potter movies.

With fantastic individual interesting shops, art galleries and combined with superb restaurants with traditional English tea rooms , Lavenham most certainly deserves its place as a must see location. Get your camera ready!
